Motorcycle Unit
Police MotorcycleThe Concord Police Department reinstated its Motorcycle Unit in May, 2013.  Historically, the Department has utilized motorcycles as a police resource to address crime, enhance motor vehicle enforcement activity, and to participate in community based events.  However, in the early 1990's the Motorcycle Unit was phased out.  Under the direction of Chief Duval this Unit has been reinstated and has been received with great enthusiasm.

The Motorcycle Unit currently consists of four officers and one supervisor.  The Department has one motorcycle, a 2013 Harley Davidson Ultra Glide, and is looking at adding a second motorcycle in the near future.

The Motorcycle Unit has been very busy from the start and the use of a police motorcycle has proven to be an effective tool in addressing motor vehicle related complaints.  The officers assigned to the Unit have also spent time interacting with motorcycle enthusiasts, community groups, and residents of the community.
