CIP85 - Loudon Road Water Main Replacement - Phase 2
November 15, 2013 Update:
On Sunday evening, November 17th, the contractor will be stripping Loudon Road center line and fog lines. On Monday, during the day, the contractor will be connecting the 8-inch water main on Old Loudon Road to the new 12-inch water main. During the remainder of the week, the contractor will be working during the day to address miscellaneous clean up items. This completes the project.

November 8, 2013 Update:
Early next week, the contractor will finish connecting the water services to the new main on Loudon Road between Woodcrest Heights and Old Loudon Road. Later in the week, finish paving the main line trench (two center lanes) on Loudon Road from East Side Drive to Old Loudon Road. NOTE: This work will take one day and will occur between 7 am and 3 pm. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction between East Side Drive and Old Loudon Road. Traffic delays are anticipated.

November 1, 2013 Update:
Next week, the contractor will be continuing to connect water services and hydrants over to the new 12” water main on Loudon Road, from Northeast Village to Old Loudon Road.

On Wednesday, November 6th, the contractor will be milling the cross trenches along Loudon Road.
This work is scheduled to occur between 7:00 AM and 2:00 PM, at which time traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction. The milling will start at the Old Loudon Road intersection and work westerly in 200 foot sections towards East Side Drive. This work is being done in preparation for paving the week of November 11th. Commuters will experience isolated traffic delays in the areas of the trench paving. They may also notice a slight bump when driving over the milled areas.

October 25, 2013 Update:
Next week, the contractor will be connecting water services to the new main between the entrance to Woodcrest Heights and Northeast Village Road. On Sunday night, October 27th, a new hydrant will be installed on Branch Turnpike Road.

October 18, 2013 Update:
On Sunday night, October 20th, the contractor will be relaying water services on Old Loudon Road. Next week, beginning Monday night, the contractor will relay water services between the entrance to Woodcrest Heights and Longhorn’s Steak House.

October 11, 2013 Update:
Next week, the contractor will focus on connecting services between Allard Street and the entrance to Woodcrest Heights. On Tuesday night, the water service to Salisbury Green will be connected and egress/ingress to the site will be reduced to one way.

October 4, 2013 Update:
On Monday and Tuesday, October 7th and 8th, new water hydrants will be installed at the entrance drive to Morning Star apartment complex and the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. The rest of the week will focus on relaying water services in the vicinity of Allard Street.

September 27, 2013 Update:
On Monday, September 30th, the contractor will relay water services on Loudon Road in the vicinity of Gates Street. On Tuesday, the water main on Ellsworth Street will be shut down to connect the existing main to the new 12 inch main on Loudon Road, followed by the Drew Street connection on Wednesday . Thursday night, the contractor will either continue relaying water services east of Gates Street or work on raising the buried drain manhole covers opposite Jiffy Lube.

September 20, 2013 Update:
Next week, the contractor will continue to repay water services from the new main to the property line between Gates Street and Portland Glass. They will also replace a small section of water main on Gates Street to the new 12-inch main. The contractor is scheduled to flush and test the new section of water main between Woodcrest Heights and Old Loudon Road. A water main shutdown is tentatively scheduled for Thursday, September 26th, on Gates Street, which may affect Ellsworth and Drew Streets. Notices will be distributed in advance.

September 6, 2013 Update:
Next week, the contractor plans to install some new hydrants, connect water
services over to the new water main from East Side Drive to Gates Street, and
flush and test the water main from Woodcrest Heights Road to Old Loudon
Road.

August 30, 2013 Update:
Due to the Labor Day holiday, the contractor will not be working Sunday and
Monday nights, September 1st and 2nd. Work will resume Tuesday through
Thursday nights, September 3rd, 4th and 5th. Scheduled for this time is the
installation of new hydrants, connecting water services over to the new water
main from East Side Drive to Gates Street, and filling and flushing of the water
main from Woodcrest Heights Road to Old Loudon Road.

August 23, 2013 Update:
Next week, the contractor working on the Loudon Road water main project
will be installing new water main between Branch Turnpike Road and Old Loudon Road.

August 16, 2013 Update:
Next week, the contractor working on the Loudon Road water main project will be installing new water main from Northeast Village to Old Loudon Road.

August 9, 2013 Update:
Next week, the contractor working on the Loudon Road water main project expects to be installing new hydrants in the corridor, as well as a new water main from Dick Day Motors to the Olive Garden Restaurant. Testing will also begin on the first 2,000 feet of new water main.

July 26, 2013 Update:
The contractor will continue night work on the replacement of the water main, on Loudon Road
between Gates Street and Allard Street.

July 19, 2013 Update:
The contractor will begin a Sunday through Thursday evening work schedule on July 21st. They will be saw cutting the pavement from Ellsworth Street to Allard Street and installing the new water main between Drew Street and Gate Street.

July 12, 2013 Update:
On Tuesday night, July 16th, the contractor, S.U.R. Construction,
will begin the replacement of the 8-inch water main on Loudon Road, between
Drew and Ellsworth Streets. Work will take place between 7:00 PM and 7:00 AM,
Sunday through Thursday. Traffic will be restricted to one lane in each direction during
the work hours. Access to all businesses and residences will be available.
