CIP73 - Airport Parallel Taxiway Construction
October 10, 2014
The parallel taxiway construction to Runway 12/30 is substantially complete and the new taxiway will be open for use today. There is still some tree removal to occur off of airport property which is scheduled for later in the fall. 

October 3, 2014
The secondary runway 12/30 at the Concord Municipal Airport will be closed on Monday, October 7th, so that new sign bases can be installed. The electrician will finalize the installation of the parallel taxiway designation sings and will complete loaming and seeding all disturbed areas. The new parallel taxiway is tentatively scheduled to open at the end of next week.

September 19, 2014
Next week, the contractor will complete drainage in the western portion of the taxiway to runway 12/30 at the Concord Municipal Airport. They will also work on upgrading the electric vault to accommodate the new taxiway pavement lights and signage. Taxiway pavement markings will be installed at the end of the week.

August 15, 2014
Next week, F. L. Merrill Construction will continue to install sign bases for the new taxiway, and Continental Paving will complete all taxiway stripping. Both contractors will cease working on the taxiway from August 22nd until the week of September 8, 2014 when the signs are scheduled for delivery.

August 8, 2014
Next week, F. L. Merrill will continue to install electrical conduit on the taxiway at the Concord Municipal Airport. Existing pavement in this area will be removed in preparation for paving the following week.

August 1, 2014
F. L. Merrill will continue electrical work in the vicinity of the 17 end of the main runway.

July 25, 2014
Runway 17/35 and 12/30 will be closed from 7:00 PM on Tuesday, July 29th, until 7:00 AM on Wednesday, July 30th, to set sign bases and pave the new taxiway apron. Electrical work along the taxiway continues.

July 11, 2014
Next week, the contractor will continue with electrical work for the new taxiway signs and lights at the Concord Municipal Airport. Night work may occur on Wednesday, July 16th, from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, to install sign bases in the safety area of Runway 17. Paving and trucking operations will start around 4:00 AM and continue until 2:00 PM the following day. Runway 17/35 will be closed during this time.

July 3, 2014
The contractor will be base paving the western portion of the taxiway at the Concord Municipal Airport on the evenings of Monday, July 7th, and Tuesday, July 8th, from 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM. Runway 17/35 will be closed both nights during this time and Runway 12/30 will be closed Tuesday night. The rest of the week will focus on electrical work and loaming to minimize impacts to race weekend.

June 20, 2014
Continental Paving is 95% complete with the eastern portion of the taxiway at the Concord Municipal Airport. F. L. Merrill Construction will continue installing conduit for the signs and lights, and sub base material in preparation for base paving the week of June 30th.

June 13, 2014
Next week, Continental Paving will be completing the drainage outlet in the ravine located south of the new taxiway at the Concord Municipal Airport. Electrical lights and signs are 70% complete on the eastern portion of the taxiway. F.L. Merrill Construction will be placing topsoil adjacent to the western end of the taxiway and installing electrical conduit for the new signs and lights.
