Youth & Teen Programs
Concord Parks & Recreation offers a variety of programming for kids 5-18 years old throughout the year.
Ice Skating ages 4 to adult: Ice skating lessons take place on Saturdays at Everett Arena. Three levels are offered Basic beginner, for those who have never skated before. Beginner, participants should be able to stand and skate forward. Intermediate, for participants who have taken lessons
previously, can skate forward, backward and cut across.
Youth Basketball Leagues: ages 4 years old to 12th grade: Youth basketball leagues for all ages, All games and practices are held in Concord. Volunteer coaches needed.
Concord Nordic BKL grades K-5th: The BKL is well known for teaching children how to cross country ski, the league also offers more experienced skiers excellent training as well as opportunities to learn about Nordic racing. Participants must have their own equipment. Ski league is held on Friday afternoons.
Kids Can Cook! Ages 8-12 years old: Let your kids enjoy the joys of cooking! Classes will follow different themes depending on the time of year. Kids will cook dishes to share either in class or to take home. (note: participants will be using knives in the preparations)
Holiday Gift Workshop ages 8-13 years old: Are your kids looking to make their holidays a DIY success story? Look no further! Working with the instructor participants will whip up meaningful gifts for friends and family. Those enrolled will have a choice of making up to 3 of each gift. Gifts will be wrapped before going home.
Archery ages 6 and up: Archery lessons for Concord Parks & Recreation are lead by Dana White, an instructor with over 30 years of experience. All equipment is provided.
Tae Kwon Do ages 5 and up: For self-defense, sport, fitness and fun, come learn a fast action martial art from Korea. Instruction is provided by Master Daniel Jung, a 7th degree black belt from NH Kicks Tae Kwon Do Family Fitness. During the last class students will participate in a board breaking ceremony.
Safe Sitter ages 11-14 years old: Safe Sitter is a well-rounded youth development program that teaches essential infant and childcare tasks. Participants will learn all aspects of being a successful sitter including setting prices, scheduling jobs and proper communication.
Intro to Climbing grades 1-8: During this 6 week program climbers will learn about climbing gear as well as belaying. They will work their way up to intermediate movement techniques. Additionally as the session progresses climbers will learn bouldering, slacklining and speed climbing!
NEW! Squash 7-18 years old: Welcome to the world of squash! New Hampshire Squash is a new organization whose mission is to lead the growth of the game by increasing access and awareness to this exciting sport played by 25 million people around the world. Squash is a fun and challenging contest of agility, strategy, talent and mental and physical strength. It is an incredibly beneficial game for health and fitness, and has been voted the number one healthiest sport by Forbes Magazine. Kids will love the game and our fun packed sessions. No prior experience is necessary
